In January we organized an exhibition named the "Blue Future" about Marine Science and Environment held at the European Parliamanent in Brussels. It is a huge building in which you can get easily lost. To get into that building is really complicated and kafkaesk. I did this sketch during a break in the cafeteria. Mostly young people from different European countries gathered there to have a coffee.

Bamberger Haus Bremen 2011
Bamberger Haus Bremen 2011
Julius Bamberger opened his Department Store in Bremen in December 1929. It was the first real big store with nine floors.
In 1937 he fled Germany. In 2007 the Bamberger Haus was renovated and the two missing top floors were added. A permanent exhibition reminds of Julius Bamberger´s life. The building is still a "must see" and is home for the Bremen Community College (Volkshochschule)
On 12 December 2011 I was there for a weekend course in creative writing and I did this sketch during my lunch break.

Ms Emmi and Herr Willnowski in Bad Bevensen
"Do you know where the Tanzcasino is?", a younger couple asked us, when we just left a restaurant in Bad Bevensen, a small town in the Lueneburg Heath (Lueneburger Heide). "No,sorry, we have no idea, but if there is a good show we would like to join you." And it was a good show by the two actors from Berlin, Ms Emmi and Herr Willnowski. Not what you would call politically correct, but real fun. Sorry, only in German: www.emmi-online.de/

Bad_Bevensen_Dame_2011
The town of Bad Bevensen in Lower Saxony attracts many retired people because of the healthy spring and the saline waters. This sketch I did during our lunch. I was impressed by this old lady who was having her lunch alone.
Ink on paper.
